During the last Instructional Focus, we discussed Modeling a Mediocre TIDE paragraph using a rubric. You, the instructional craftspeople that you are, found some unique ways to present the paragraphs and the rubrics to our Fulton Falcons. Classroom level innovation and ownership of the TIDE process is definitely happening at Fulton.
During this session, teachers will score student writing and model that scoring so that students can replicate the scoring process on their own. Before we meet together on Wednesday, please answer the following questions.
What is the benefit of a rubric for writing and other student assignments?
Why is it important that we as teachers practice scoring student work?
Why is it important that students score student work? How does that affect student mastery?
